The WWISA Experience

Volunteering with WWISA is one of the many things that I came to do in SA and I think it's been one of the most successful!!

My volunteering programme was based in the Tsitsikamma Wolf Sanctuary. Dealing with Siberian wolves in South Africa seemed like a very interesting project. Wolves that had come out of Zoos, private collectors etc. Some of the animals were extremely humanized, yet some of them, still seemed to me, like they had the attributes of a wild wolf. But all of them remain in captivity and will do so unless South Africa officials recognise the situation at hand. Maybe some day with the help of sponsors, the wolves can go home. I don't know what will happen with them, but I was glad to do my part in aiding their furture and survival.

Plett' is a lot of fun. Coming here back to Rocky Road from my project at the weekends allowed me the chance to enjoy Plett night life. It's quiet but I had a lot of good times. Plettenberg Bay is a special place. I've seen quite a bit of SA, and I've loved it all. But Plett is like a different country. You'll have to come see for yourself. Come see the whales, enjoy the beach, and check Natures Valley, the Garden of WWISA, you'll see what I mean.
